OUR THERAPIES
ROSE RIVER THERAPY
At Rose River Therapy we work integratively, valuing a person-centred approach to treatment. We are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches and modalities.
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a trauma focused, brain-body therapy that facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories using bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movements.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a therapy that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, identifying and challenging unhelpful patterns and cycles.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a powerful, trauma focused therapy that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional /body pain, trauma, dissociation and other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting works with the deep brain and body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the central nervous system.
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) aims to access the core of the traumatic experience in a way which tracks the original physiological sequence in the brainstem, the part of the brain which is rapidly online in situations of danger or attachment disruption.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to help people identify their value and skills. It looks to adust the stories people have formed of their life and encourages them to see oneself as separate from their problems.
Solution Focused
Solution focused therapy is a goal directed collaborative approach. It incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and helps to elicit change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy explores unresolved issues and conflicts from the past in order to gain insights into current problems.
Ego State Therapy
Ego state therapy is a psychodynamic approach that explores different 'ego states' and identifies problematic parts of self.
Clinical Hypnosis
Clinical hypnosis is the facilitation of a deeply relaxed state to help change unwanted habits and behaviours.
Compassion Focused Therapy
Compassion focused therapy helps those with high levels of shame and self criticism, who have difficulty being kind to themselves or others. It helps people to relate to their difficulties in a more compassionate way and seeks to establish feelings of safety, self acceptance and comfort.
Polyvagal Therapy
Helps individuals understand and manage their body’s response to stress and trauma by focusing on the vagus nerve and its role in regulating emotions and behaviors. It draws the autonomic nervous system directly into therapy work and offers co-regulation as an interactive process in psychotherapy.
Systemic Therapy
Systemic therapy explores interactional patterns and dynamics impacting on individual issues. It helps to better understand the relationship and connections between people within a system whether personal, family based or professional.
